San Francisco

These images are from our second day in San Francisco. We toured Alcatraz in the morning and then walked along Pier 39 down to Fisherman's Wharf. The sun was a killer and I am still peeling!!! Toward the end of the day we headed to Baker Beach in hopes of some sort of sunset/twilight!

  • My pal! Funny part of the day, Phil started to say "It's funny we haven't seen any birds over here on the piers." Just then I looked over the railing and there he was! (Brown Pelican)

  • There were a few whispy clouds in the sky, but they really didn't light up the way I'd like them to.

  • So by the end of this shoot I was soaked up to my knees. Guess I should have brought an extra pair of shoes instead of having to use the hair dryer in the hotel room, ha! Not to mention I lost quite a few sharp images due to strong waves! Not cool when you only have a few minutes of twilight!!!

  • Painted Ladies-This image was actually the last of the trip. Our super clear skies turned to dreadful stormy clouds, and shockingly it was still hazy!!! Phil and I hid at the bottom of a hill to get out of the cold wind just to capture a few twilight images. This is my favorite, and I especially like the light trails in the foreground. Did I mention that we left the tripod head in the car and didn't realize it until I needed it? Good to have a husband who can run quickly to save the day!!!
