  1. Oregon

Columbia River Gorge

Phil has returned home for a few months, so we decided to go camping. Our destination was Ainsworth State Park in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. It truly is a waterfall lover's dream, and I barely scratched the surface! The weather report was hopeful, it was supposed to be overcast for the majority of our time there, but the sun made a good showing and cut down a lot of my shooting time. I will definitely visit the area again in the near future! Things of note, the falls are really raging so expecting to get an image without water droplets on your lens is nearly impossible. Also, the exit for Multnomah Falls is in the center of the highway, and the trails run right along it as well. There is a lot of noise from the passing traffic, so if escaping to a quiet location is your goal, this is not the place to go! It is rather beautiful though, so well worth the visit. Trip number 2 to the gorge was hopeful as well, but this time it rained so much that we ended up leaving a day early. I don't mind hiking in the rain, but it was non stop and rather miserable!! Oh well, I will try again!!!
