Mt. Rainier Jan. 2011

This gallery has a combination of photos from last week and this week. One of the things I love about Mt. Rainier is that it is different every time you venture into the park. I never tire of the views and wildlife and escaping the city! The first 5 images are from last week when there was more snow on the trees. This week we got to experience the amazing lenticular clouds that form over the mountain.

  • View from Kautz Creek. Not the best foreground, but a great view of the lenticular cloud.

  • If you've seen Mom's gallery, she has a photo of me sitting in the snow. She acted like I was falling behind, but this is what I was really doing!

  • This was a LOT OF WORK, but so worth it in the end! I really wanted to show the beauty of the Tatoosh Range and the amazing sky that we were fortunate enough to experience. This is a work of 5 images, 15 exposures, layered and tonemapped for hdr, then stitched together for the pano.
