Mt. Rainier Sept 2011
Inspiration has been low for me this year. With our Summer running a month and a half behind, there were no wildflowers to be photographed in July and August. When summer did arrive, it came with clear blue skies and sunshine. We know as photographers that this is SO boring to photograph in!! The other day I received my latest Outdoor Photographer magazine, and I finally received the inspiration I so desperately needed. Star trails under a full moon in which to light up the landscape. Last night just happened to be a full moon, so I drove up to Paradise to the perfect spot at the top of Myrtle Falls. After spending a few hours entertaining myself and the wildlife, I took a nap in my truck and headed back out at sunrise. The curse still continues, the sun rose up through some clouds which diffused the warm glow that we love. By the time it broke free of the clouds, it was too harsh to continue shooting. I headed home at that point, and much to my surprise when exiting the park, the skies were gray and misty. I found some of the drama I was looking for, so stopped at local farms to capture a few images. Inspiration is the key, keep it coming Outdoor Photographer!!!
