Damon Point SP Jan '13
Today's outing started at Grays Harbor. It was stunningly beautiful, sunny and freezing. I found so many tiny frozen leaves that I wish I had taken my macro set up with me! I did still get a few frosted images and am sharing my favorites in this gallery. The next stop was at my main destination, Damon Point State Park. I headed over early to allow me some time to locate the snowy owls, and managed to find them right away. I located one in a tree and set up my camera and tripod waiting for the light to change. An hour and a half later, and a few minutes to go to glorious lighting and he flew away! I quickly located another owl, but unfortunately the magic light didn't happen. Instead I went for the twilight background, filled in with a little flash, and got some amazing photos! Enjoy!
